Clinic Schedule for 2008
If you would like to organize a clinic in your area, please contact Alexandra Kurland at kurlanda@crisny.org
April
April 11-13 Alvin Texas (Near Houston)
Contact: Martha Moore at mhmoore@flash.net
This clinic will bebuilding on with work I began with this group last year. The focus of this course will be riding. To have a horse in this course, the horse must understand the core lessons of clicker training, and you need to be riding it regularly at least walk trot. The course is not set up either for colt starting or a problem horse restarting. If you want to ride in the clinic, you have to be actively riding your horse at home and be comfortable taking him away on trips. We have limited horse spots so all are welcome to attend as non-riding participants. Even if riding is a long way off for you and your horse, you'll learn a lot attending this clinic.
April 19-21 Toutle WA Advanced Training
Contact: Debra Olson-Daniels at
olsondaniels@cport.com or daniels@cport.com
This is an on-going series of clinics held at The Magic Center in Toutle WA. We have only a limited number of horse slots available and preference is given to horses who have been in previous clinics. But everyone is welcome to attend even if you can't bring your horse. This is a great opportunity to see horses and riders who have been using clicker training for a while. You'll see a range of experience from novice rider and horse teams to very experienced clicker trainers.
It is recommended that you familiarize yourself at least with the "Step-By-Step" book and the beginning DVDs before attendingany of the Advanced trainings. The more familiar you are with the material in the books and DVDs the more you will get from the clinics.
April 26-28 Groton NY Advanced Training
Contact: Kate Graham at: grahkat@airxcess.net
Like the Toutle WA clinics, the Groton NY clinics are an on-going series. These advanced clinics are a great way to introduce yourself to clicker training. You won't see the beginning steps. All the horses in the Advanced Courses are already familiar with the clicker foundation lessons. What you will see are the many ways in which clicker training is being applied by their owners, with an emphasis on the riding material covered in The Click That Teaches: Riding with the Clicker.
Everyone is welcome to attend. You don't have to be an experienced clicker trainer to get a lot from these clinics, but horse slots are reserved for those who have attended these clinics before.
These clinics are designed to assist people who are using The Click That Teaches books and DVDs. It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with those resources before attending the clinics.

Start-up clinic. This is a great opportunity for those of you in the UK who are new to clicker training and want to learn more about it. Nick has Icelandics, fun horses for everyone to learn from, and a perfect set-up for the learning the foundation lessons of clicker training. This start-up clinic will be followed immediately by an advanced training, also at Nick's farm, so it will also serve as a great review for those of you who wish to brush up a bit on clicker basics before moving on to the work covered in the advanced training.
